Facebook sends invites for an Android event on April 4 - a new phone or a customized home screen? you guess

Facebook sends out invites for a press event for some sort of Android related event, dated on April 4, Thursday. The event is to be held in Menlo Park, and they have invited everyone for a new Home experience on Android and noted in the invites that, “Come See Our New Home on Android.” We don't have any idea on what exactly Facebook will showcase at the event, but the speculation is high in tech space from the long rumored Facebook phone by HTC to a modified Android home screen app.
The HTC made Facebook phone was there in the rumors for a long time, and it is supposed to be the HTC Myst that popped up on the web with its full specifications back at the beginning of March.
But according to WSJ, it seems like that the venue doesn't mean for a hardware announcement and the reported that
"The social network has been developing new software for mobile devices powered by Google’s Android operating system that displays content from users’ Facebook accounts on a smartphone’s home screen–the first screen visible when they turn on the device, people familiar with the situation said."
Thats it! Facebook will definitely have something in their box for April 4, and it's for sure an Android thing, and if we go with WSJ, the social network giant is developing home-screen replacement software for Android devices which integrates Facebook functionality and the first manufacturer to integrate it in a phone, beyond doubts is HTC.
But the confusion is still there, as the folks at TechCrunch takes the invite one step further, and according to their sources, the event is dedicated to a phone announcement, and the hardware, as rumored will be made by HTC. Like Amazon did with their Kindle Fire, Facebook will use a customized version of Android that offers a deep integration with the social network, they added.
And finally the tweets from evleaks states that "The version of Facebook for Android currently on this device needs to be upgraded to support Facebook Home." The tweet doesn't gives any hint directly, but still it suggests that the event is for a launch of new Home screen and 'Facebook Home' will be the name of new home-screen experience.

So all in all we have to wait for April 4 to know the entire details on what the social giant hides behind the tag 'Facebook Home.'
