Just a couple of days ago evLeaks tweeted that Verizon will officially announce the Pantech Perception on April 24, and the big Red did exactly as rumored, unveiled Perception officially. This new Android smartphone will be available starting from April 25, and Verizon plans to make it available online as well as at Verizon retail stores. It will cost around $99.99 on contract, after a $50 mail-in rebate.

The Perception is not a high end device, rather it is a mid-ranger with some interesting features. It comes with Motion Sense, a new technology that allows the user to “wave a hand over the phone to answer a call, scroll through contacts, change a song being played or find a picture from their library.”
The Perception is a 4G LTE device, and it offers a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels, dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 16GB of internal memory, 8MP rear camera with flash, 2MP front-facing camera for video chat.
But the OS is a bit outdated, the Perception runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich unfortunately, but Verizon promises an update to the OS to Jelly Bean in future. The Perception also supports Camnote app that lets users to capture and save their notes to the phone so they can stay organized.
