The Fonepad features a metal back with either intitanium gray or champagne gold, giving the device a unique exterior looks.  The 7"  IPS screen on the device offers a 1,280 x 800 resolution. When it comes to the innards, it packs a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor along with a  PowerVR SGX540 GPU and 1GB of RAM.  The 16GB of internal storage is expanded with a microSD card support that will add another 32GB storage to the device.  As we said, there is a micro SIM card slot, that enables the tablet to work as a smartphone too.

Jonney Shih, Asus chairman, claims that  "It is ideal to have a larger screen with entertainment, social media and other online activities now playing an increasingly important part in our mobile lifestyles," more than that "The incorporation of 3G mobile data with full telephony support makes the Fonepad a perfect combination of tablet and phone in one single device."

The device offers a 3 MP rear camera with 720p HD video recording and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chats and self-portraits. The battery included in the box is a huge  4,270mAh battery that will feed the device for up to  nine hours. The tablet weighs in at 340g with a slim 10.4mm profile, makes it easy to handle with one hand.

Fonepad is landing in March itself with  a price tag of $249, and if you are looking for a phone functionality of a smartphone and the entertainment opportunities of a tablet, then you can check out the device.
