Earlier this week we reported that the Indian phone makers Lava are set to launch a new Intel powered smartphone, under their XOLO series, on March 14. The March 14 is here and the company introduced the device what it claims to be the "fastest" smartphone ever, dubbed as XOLO X1000. XOLO family from Lava follows the Intel processor power and they had introduced two device X900 and X500 in the past, X1000 now joins as the third one in the series.
Well, those who are expecting it to flaunt the Clover Trail+ dual-core Atom processor, will surely have to be a bit disappointed with the latest offering, as the company had accelerated the hype for the device by announcing some bold claims in their teasers, of being ‘the fastest phone in the world.’ But the XOLO 1000 lands with Intel Medfield processor after all.
The company has taken the wraps off the device just few minutes back in Goa, India. The phone offers a 4.7 inch 720p display with 720x1280 resolution, and it is claimed to have been manufactured by SHARP. The display sports a 314 pixels per inch and Sharp TFT transmissive LCD technology and with a 2.5D edge to edge glass. Now the phone uses Intel Atom Processor Z2480 processor clocked at 2 GHz. The graphics parts are handled by PowerVR SGX540 GPU. In terms of memory and storage, it packs 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card slot.
There is an 8MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front facing camera . It also packs a 1900 mAh battery. The phone measures 67.6×133.9×9.1 mm and weighs 140 grams. It runs on an outdated Android 4.0.4, which is disappointing, as the company already have some Android Jelly Bean smartphones.
The XOLO X1000 has been priced at Rs 19,999 and is already up for buy at Flipkart.
