Samsung Executive Confirms SmartWatch Possibly Dubbed As Altius

While the Galaxy S4 rumors were in its peak, we heard a name Samsung Altius in the rumors, along with some screen shots and details. The Altius seems to be Samsung step in to smartwatch market, and it was said make an official unwrap not long after the Galaxy S4. That were remains as rumors itself, but here we got some confirmation on the device now.

Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, in a recent interview with Bloomberg reported that "We've been preparing the watch product for so long. We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them." In that interview Lee didn't share any specific details on the watch including the features, price details or releasing dates, but at least confirmed that the watch is real and we will see it in next few months.

It's pretty sure that along with smartphones both Apple and Samsung are eyeing on new product line-ups to encourage the market, and Apple's iWatch that is already in rumors, was said to be finished by a team of 100 engineers.

According to the previous reports, the watch from Samsung dubbed Altius, said to feature music play, clock and email apps along with some other innovative features and will supposed to have its own cellular connectivity. It may be runs on a dedicated OS. But all these are rumors right now, so take it with a pinch of salt and wait for the official words.
