It was already confirmed earlier that Sony will expand their Xperia line-up on March 18, and they did exactly as promised. The Japanese makers today unveiled their two new Android devices under Xperia brand -- Xperia SP and Xperia L. Sony readies both the devices as mid-rangers, yet it is not far behind those high end ones. Both the devices will be landing on Q2 of 2013, worldwide.

Sony throws some high end features like Exmor RS for mobile into their new offerings. "Xperia SP and Xperia L are ideally suited for those seeking stylish class-leading smartphones that don't compromise on features," said Calum MacDougall , Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications. "Both of our new models benefit from Sony's proven innovation and engineering expertise - whether you want to enjoy premium HD quality entertainment over 4G LTE on our mid-range Xperia SP or capture every moment in perfect detail with our more affordable Xperia L."

Of the two new devices, Xperia SP is the most interesting with some exciting features, compared to the Xperia L. It comes with a 4.6-inch 720p display and the aluminium frame offers a stunning look for the device. The Xperia SP packs Sony's own Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, for better viewing experience with new real-time contrast optimization and improved sharpness. Under the hood, the device packs 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 1GB of RAM, and also offers all the regular connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. Sony also includes Superior Auto technology from its Cyber-shot digital camera range that intelligently detects scenes, applies best image processing including layered technology and also sets most optimal settings for still image.
Other important features include 8-megapixel camera, 4G LTE, and a specially designed transparent strip which lights up in different colors and pulse-patterns depending on new notifications and music. The phone also features a Battery STAMINA mode for extra run time by selectively shutting down mobile data use while in standby. It will be landing in white, red and black versions.
On the other hand Xperia L is a simple and more cheaper offering from Sony with a 4.3-inch FWVGA display, 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8MP camera with HDR for picture and movie, NFC and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
