From then the device got spread around the world quickly, and became the leaders in the Android space within a short span. The journey of the device was quite exciting as it set new sales records during that period. It soon became super rival for Apple's iPhone in every phase of its journey. From the past few months the South Korean makers were busy to offer us the successor for Galaxy S III with much improved hardware and some innovative software. The follower and the fourth iteration in their Galaxy series, the much anticipated Galaxy S4 were making rumors, like never before for any device, and set our hypes sky high. This is probably the first time Samsung takes US, Apple's home turf, as the venue to introduce their Galaxy device.

Finally it happened as scheduled on March 14, in front of a restless crowd excited to see the next generation Galaxy S, at Radio City Music Hall, New York City. JK Shin, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung announced the most anticipated Galaxy S4. And the first thing we wanted to tell you that it's a beginning to forget those itchy hands on the screen to control the phone, even though we can't avoid the touch screen, still Samsung delivers one more way to control it.
So let's check what Samsung packs inside their new buddy? Most of the rumors and wild guesses turn to reality in the device, including hardware specifications and also some software features. Till the device goes official I was confused whether it is Galaxy S IV or Galaxy S4, now it seems like that Samsung has dropped those Roman numerals and in fact the teaser revealed the change. The S4 offers myriad of new software features both innovative and interesting, but the hardware first,
It packs a stunning 5-inch 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen with 441 ppi pixel density, which ensures excellent visual comfort. The display lands with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for improved damage and scratch resistance and reduced scratch visibility.

The international Galaxy S4 version uses Exynos 5 Octa chipset, with four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.6GHz, four Cortex-A7 cores running at 1.2GHz along with PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU. Samsung also offers a second choice of CPU for some selected market, that will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset with its 4 Krait 300 cores and Adreno 320 GPU. Both versions will offer 2GB of RAM and LTE connectivity.
On the back side the Samsung Galaxy S4 will feature a 13 MP sharpshooter, while there is a 2.1MP camera on the front. S4 lands with 16 / 32 / 64 GB of internal storage options and there is also a microSD card slot that can accommodate cards up to 64 GB.
In terms of connectivity Galaxy S4 offers WiFi 802.11ac support on top of the usual a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 + LE, NFC, an IR LED is also included for remote control access using Samsung’s WatchON service, GPS, GLONASS and it offers MHL 2.0 support so we can use a standard MHL connector, along with a plethora of sensors including Accelerometer, RGB light, Geomagnetic, Proximity, Gyro, Barometer, Temperature & Humidity, Gesture.
It sports a dimension of 136.6×69.8×7.9 mm and weighs around 130 grams. The S4 is only 7.9mm thick even with a 2,600 mAh battery. It offers 2.5G (GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE), 3G (HSPA+ 42Mbps) and 4G (LTE Cat 3 100/50Mbps) support.

The Galaxy S4 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and there is company's own Nature UX 2.0, and it looks really amazing
Now on to the software gimmicks in detail,
Dual Camera.
The Dual Camera is a stunning new technology that allows the user to use both front and back camera simultaneously. So you can record video or snap pictures from both front and rear camera's. While capturing the image user can choose from a variety of frame effects that blend the both pictures naturally and also adjust the size of the small picture inside the big one.
Sound & Shot
Another new feature associated with camera that will capture pictures with audio recordings along with them.
Dual Video Call
While you are on a video call you can able to show what you are looking at the other end, to the person, with the Dual video call. It uses both the camera's at the same time to achieve this. One more interesting feature Drama Shot, will creates seamless time-lapses, while the Story Album gathers and sorts the photos you take based on timeline, geo-tagging, or a specific event to create a photo album.
Share Music
Samsung offers a Group Play function that will let you to share music, photos, documents, and games with other S4 users around you, with out any Wi-Fi or network connection. So you will have the e same song playing on on multiple Galaxy S4 phones in sync.
S Translator
S Translator offers instant translation using text or voice, from voice to text, text to voice, or voice to voice, and right now it offers support for nine languages.
Samsung Smart Scroll/Samsung Smart Pause
In fact these are the two features that we have already heard a lot about, and it is real in S4, but not that much as you may expected.
Smart Pause, with the use of front camera, tracks your face and when it moves away from the phone screen, the feature pauses the video playback. On the other side, Smart Scroll uses face movement to scroll the browser or emails up and down without touching the screen.
Air View
Air View and Air Gesture are nothing but touch less gestures that widely rumored many times, and it will let you to hover with their fingers above the screen to preview the content of an email, S Planner event, image, or video, without having to open it. You can also use the gestures to scroll up and down a Web page, change the currently playing music track, or even accept a call with just a wave of your hand.
Samsung WatchOn
Samsung WatchOn is an app that make use of the IR Blaster included on the on S4. With this app you can convert your S4 into universal remote and control your TV, set-top box, DVD, and any other IR-receiving entertainment hardware.
S Health
The Galaxy S have a range of sensors packed in it, and with the help of those sensors S Health app monitor your health, to "improve your quality of life." Food Diary, Exercise Diary, and Sleep Monitor sound will make you to stay healthy and in fit.
S Voice Drive
S Voice Drive app is optimized to use your S4 while you are driving, that can activate commands via voice control for optimization when driving.
Samsung Optical Reader
And finally Samsung Optical Reader, a built-in Optical Character Recognition engine that automatically recognizes text, a business card or QR code information, that come across and snap with the camera and offers useful functions such as translation, call, text message and search.
So all in all these are the features that you may expect from Galaxy S from Samsung.

Pricing & Availability
Samsung yet to reveal the pricing details of the device, and it will be disclosed at the regional launch events. The Samsung Galaxy S4 will kick off its global journey by end of April. The company is partnering with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular and Cricket in the US for S4 launch, while in Europe region Deutsche Telecom, EE, H3G, Orange, Telenor, Telia Sonera, Telefonica, and Vodafone will be offering the S4.
