Asus Officially Unwraps Padfone Infinity

Asus Padfone is an interesting hybrid concept in which a  smartphone slips into a tablet-like dock, helping you to experience the bigger screen, when you are in need of it. The Taiwanese makers now introduces the third  generation in the series, after Padfone and Padfone 2. The latest addition called Padfone infinity lands with  lot of improvements over the previous models including a faster processor, bigger screen and much more.

Under the premium casing the device hides a quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, that according to Asus, offers super-fast speeds and LTE connectivity. The processor is assisted with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The Padfone Infinity features a 13MP rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP front facing camera. In terms of network and connectivity it offers - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 42 Mbps HSPA, GPS, 100 Mbps LTE. The device runs on the latest version of Jelly Bean, the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and houses a 2,400 mAh battery. The battery promises a 19 hours of talk time.

Other features of the Padfone Infinity includes a notetaking app like that we found in Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, Asus's own Siri competitor and a 50GB of free Asus cloud storage.

Now the PadFone Infinity’s tablet dock, called PadFone Infinity Station, is simply a shell that is lifeless until you dock the smartphone to the device. Once you docked the smartphone into the back side, it starts working as a regular 10.1-inch tablet, with a resolution of 1,920×1,200. It provides access to everything you have on your smartphone, and the tablet houses a battery of its own, that will fully top-up your phone’s battery three times on one charge.

The Asus Padfone Infinity will cost £799 in the UK, and will beavailable in April.
