As the part of their Spring cleaning Google axed their valuable service, Google Reader. The service, was originally launched back in 2005 and will be officially put out to RIP on July 1st, 2013. That's definitely a sad news, but still it looks like that the shut down of some of its features are just to open a new way for some others.

The folks at Android Police noted a new App from Google, named Google Keep, and for those who are first to the name, its the brand new note-taking service from the search engine giant, some thing like Evernote in which you can color-code and add pictures to, as well as use to build checklists. Some of you may already know about Google Keep, as this is not the first time, we've heard of Keep. Back in last year Google accidentally included screenshot in an official Google+ post which contained a link labeled "save to Google Keep," pointing that there could be some Pocket-like offline reading functionality too.

The new app was reportedly up briefly at https://drive.google.com/keep/u/1/ but it seems that Google Keep just jumped out of the gun before its official detailing. After making a quick appearance it just vanished out, and now the page shows 404 error. Thanks to the source, as they took some screen shots that it all we’re left with.

The source noted that Google Keep is a reminiscence of Google's note taking app, Google Notebook that allowed users to clip and organize information from the Web. But that was a total failure and Google scrapped it long back, in January 2009.
If Google Keep go live officially in future, it has to compete with other note-taking services like Evernote, Pocket, and Onenote. So let's wait for another new note taking app.
