UMI X2, A Quad Core 5" 1080p Smartphone For Just $260

Alcatel Officially Unveiled One Touch Snap & One Touch Snap LTE

Alcatel seems to have gone crazy introducing new mobiles. Earlier this year they had announced 13 new mobile devices at CES.  They continue to unveil new mobile devices at the MWC too. Just two days ago Alcatel introduced a high end 5" One Touch Idle X and a Firefox OS based One Touch Fire at the same MWC venue . Now the company is adding two more devices to the MWC line-up, named One Touch Snap and the Snap LTE, 4G version of the device. One Touch Snap is a 4.5-inch qHD device with 540×960 resolution and under the hood it offers a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor power along with 1 GB of RAM and a 4GB of on-board storage. The camera provided in the Snap is a 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, capable of 720p video recording and a 1.3 MP front camera. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Alcatel One Touch Fire With Firefox OS Goes Official

Along with ZTE, Alcatel also introduced a new handset based on the Firefox OS. ZTE Open is an entry level device with Firefox OS, and the device from Alcatel, One Touch Fire also falls into that entry level range. One Touch Fire features a 3.5-inch HVGA TN display and offers a 1GHz processor power and there is 256MB of RAM and 512MB of internal flash memory. It features 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera. A smaller 1,400 mAh battery used to power the box, that delivers a 12 hours talk time in 2G that shrinks to 7 hours in 3G. Rugged Cat B15 Android Smartphone From Catterpiller

Caterpillar, a name famous for their heavy equipment in construction and mining industry, is entering into smartphone market, and as you may expect it won't be for regular guys, but the device dubbed as CAT B15 is for highly adventurers. ZTE Grand Memo Announced Officially With A Huge 5.7" Display

To be there in the list of top 3 phone makers around the world within 2015, is the goal of Chinese phone makers ZTE, and they are on right track it seems. Their latest range of products unveiled at MWC, shows the fire, to be a major player in mobile space going forward. At Barcelona, Spain ZTE have introduced a few devices among them ZTE Grand Memo, with its huge 5.7" display, grabs our attention quickly. T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 Announced Officially

Soon after Nokia introduced their new range of smartphones at the MWC venue, the folks over at T-Mobile announced that they will be offering an exclusive version Lumia 520 that got its official bells at MWC. The device will be called as Lumia 521 in USA and it landing on the 4G network of T-Mobile. Lumia 520 or 521, whatever it is, it lands with a 1GHz dual-core processor, with 512 MB of RAM, 8GB of storage with microSD card support for further expansion, 720p video recording with its 5 MP rear camera. Nokia Lumia 520 Goes Official As The Cheapest Lumia Device

Along with  Lumia 720 , Nokia also announced a step down version of the device, Nokia Lumia 520 with the same Windows Phone 8 power. Nokia is presenting the device as the cheapest Lumia device and in fact it is cheaper than the Lumia 620, and is set for a price of €139, before taxes and subsidies. Even though it is a cheaper device, Lumia 520 is designed almost similar hardware platform of Lumia 720. It features a 1 GHZ dual-core Snapdragon processor and under the hood it packs a 512MB of RAM. However the Finnish makers have reduced the size of the device to compensate the price drop. Huawei Officially Announces Ascend P2, Promises World's Fastest 4G LTE Connectivity

Yes the time is over now, for those crazy leaks and rumors. The Chinese makers officially unwrapped their new device in the Ascend line-up, the oft-leaked Ascend P2.  Huawei did this official announcement just one day before the MWC. The  Ascend P2 is not going to be the company's  flagship device for the time, but still it rocks with some exciting features to impress the customers. Coming to the features side, Huawei Ascend P2 packs a  1.5GHz quad-core processor, the same processor that powers Ascend D2 , company's flagship device announced at CES last month. At MWC Nokia unwraps a new device in their Lumia range, called Lumia 720. The device is optimized for the upper-mid ranger, and fills the gap between a high end and mid range models with its features. It sports a design similar to its big brothers like Lumia 800, and runs on Windows Phone 8. Nokia have managed to include those high end features into the device, but still kept the price in an affordable range of around €249 (before taxes and subsidies). One of the main focus points of the device is its camera, and the company claims that it will offer "the best camera experience of any midrange smartphone." It uses Carl Zeiss optics with a large f1.9 aperture for its 6.7MP rear camera, and it works fine in low-light conditions and delivers a video capture at 720p 30FPS. Samsung Officially Announces Galaxy Note 8.0, Lands As An iPad Mini Rival

Just as expected Samsung officially announced their Galaxy Note 8.0, but with a small twist in the story, they unwrapped it just before the official kick start of MWC. Pantech Perception Spotted At FCC Ahead Of Its Verizon Launch

The Korean makers Pantech are shaking hands with the big red once again and this time for the device named Pantech Perception. The new device is rumored to be hitting the Verizon by the first quarter of 2013 and it is putting one step closer to the launch by making its way to the FCC. The device stops by FCC and photographed from all the possible angles. Huawei Ascend P2 To Have Only 4.7" 720p Screen

Last month Huawei's Ascend P2 appeared in a press shot like image, and among the rumored features, the display was said to be a 5" Full HD one. But when it made its leak again there was a confusion in display size and resolution. Now the conflict is over, and Richard Yu, Huawei mobile head confirms that the device won't have a 5" 1080p Full HD display rather it will be landing with a 4.7 inch screen with 720p resolution. The reason for the display degradation, according to Richard Yu, a 1080p Full HD resolution on a display smaller than 5" is not necessary, as the human eye can't differentiate between a 720p panel and a 1080p screen on smaller than 5" display glass. ZTE Made Sprint Force 4G LTE Handset Set To Launch On March 1

Sprint Force, a low-to-mid ranger manufactured by the Chinese makers is all set to rock on Sprint's network. The handset will be arriving on March 1. The folks at Engadget published a product page of the device, showing its details. We have first seen the ZTE made Sprint Force back in last December. It is expected to come with a 4-inch Gorilla Glass display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage. A 5 MP rear camera and a 1 MP front facing camera are also expected in the device. There is also a 4G LTE connectivity on the board. A 1,730mAh battery is also coming out of the box. But it runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich – put off the device little bit. LG Officially Announced Optimus F5 And Optimus F7

LG's Optimus series is expanding, and each of the devices in the series focuses on a particular segment. With the introduction of Optimus G devices, LG targeted high end users who expect maximum performance from their mobile device, and just recently the company introduced Optimus L series , with entry-level and mid-range products, now the South Korean makers announced a new extension for their Optimus series, called Optimus F. The new F series  includes two devices,  Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 , both of them offers 4G LTE support. According to LG the devices are "designed to bring a premium user experience and the speed of 4G LTE to a mass audience." ST-Ericsson Introduces 3GHz NovaThor L8580 eQuad Processor

Earlier this year ST-Ericsson introduced their latest 2.5GHz NovaThor L8580 CPU, but the chip makers are fast enough to come up with a faster version of the processor within a month. The new 3GHz version of the processor named quad-core NovaThor L8580  eQuad is set to showcase at the MWC next week in Barcelona. According to the makers, their latest processor is "the world’s fastest smartphone processor." It uses STMicro’s 28nm FD-SOI process technology to reduce the battery consumption to a considerable level, and the company says that this will offer "real industry breakthrough in terms of speed, power consumption and overall performance." It features four Cortex-A9 cores paired up with PowerVR SGX544 GPU clocked at 600MHz, and also uses ModAp, that will optimize the execution of apps, that will let the processor to run up to 35% faster in some cases. ZTE To Join NVIDIA For A Superphone With Quad-core Tegra 4 processor

NVIDIA introduced their quad-core Tegra 4 processor at CES last month, but the details on the launch of a real device with Tegra 4  power was a mystery till now. The Chinese makers ZTE is breaking up the mystery and announced their commitment towards NVIDIA. According to the company we can expect a new device that feature 72 Custom GPU Cores, Quad-Core Cortex-A15 CPU,Icera i500 LTE Chipset for High Performance, Power Efficiency, Fast 4G Networking, in this year itself. The detailed specifications on the device is not revealed by them, but the first 'superphone' with quad core Tegra 4 processor from ZTE is set to launch by the first half of 2013 and China is lucky to get it first. Acer Announced Liquid E1 And Z2 Smartphones

Acer introduced a new device to their 2013 smartphone line-up, Acer Liquid Z2, and also extended the Liquid E1 , announced last month, to Europe also, ahead of MWC. So the company has two new devices to showcase at MWC. Both the Liquid E1 and Liquid Z2 are landing in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Ukraine, with Russia, UK and Italy to follow. Liquid E1 is priced at €199-€229 ($270-$310), while the Liquid Z2 will retail for around €100-€130 ($134-$175). Both of them lands in dual-SIM versions too. In terms of specification, Acer Acer Liquid Z2 offers a 3.5" HVGA display and powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor. Under the hood it hides a 512MB RAM. Samsung Working On An Entry-Level Galaxy Star

In the tons of rumors on Samsung's flagship devices like Galaxy S IV and Note III, did we forget those affordable feature phones? Well the latest rumors shows that Samsung will never leave those budget concerned customers as the company is working on a new entry level device called Galaxy Star. iPhone 5S With Apple A7 Processor Spotted In The Wild

It's obvious that Apple have already started working on their upcoming iPhone model, and most probably it will be an updated iPhone 5 -- the iPhone 5S , from their previous release strategy. Last week the Australian analyst Peter Misek predicted that the iPhone 5S will enter into the production in March and will be landing in June or July. Archos To Join Smartphone Battle?

Archos always comes up with some budget friendly devices that will deliver us some descent features with out breaking our wallets. NVIDIA Launches Tegra 4i LTE Processor As A Qualcomm Killer?

Last month at CES, NVIDIA introduced their latest mobile processor, the Tegra 4 and now the American semi conductor makers are adding one more processor to their Tegra 4 line up. The newly introduced Tegra 4i, is their first fully integrated 4G LTE mobile processor, particularly designed for smartphones, to take on with  their rivals in mobile space, especially Qualcomm’s processor . The chip offers extremely faster processing power, that also with half the half the size of its competitors. Literally the Tegra 4i is a follower of Tegra 4, but functionally of it is more like a heavily upgraded Tegra 3. Huawei Ascend P2 Leaked Again, Shows Its 13 MP Camera

One more device to join the 13 MP camera club, and latest smartphone landing with a 13 MP camera is Ascend P2 from the Chinese makers Huawei .
