Samsung Officially Announces Galaxy Note 8.0, Lands As An iPad Mini Rival

Just as expected Samsung officially announced their Galaxy Note 8.0, but with a small twist in the story, they unwrapped it just before the official kick start of MWC. But that doesn't matters as it is just one day to go for the MWC. Samsung Galaxy 8.0 is a device that fits in between their Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Galaxy Note II, in terms of size and is finished with a design optimized for the ultimate pen experience. Now take a look at the device in details,

In terms of hardware, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 features an 8-inch display with 1280×800 resolution, that will make it a 189 ppi device. Even the Galaxy 10.1 offers the same ppi, the smaller form factor in Note 8.0 makes it more brighter and gives a higher pixel density feel. Samsung uses a 1.6GHz A9 quad-core processor, and there will be a 2GB of RAM to assist the processor. A 16 or 32GB of on-board storage is available with the tablet, that can be further expanded with microSD card. A 5 MP camera is placed in the rear side of the device, and a 1.3 MP shooter on the front.

A must have feature in Samsung's Note Series, the S Pen without which, the Note won't be complete, is present in Note 8.0 too. The Stylus Pen packs with Wacom tech supports 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. It packs a huge 4600 mAh battery that adds one more feather to the crown Note 8.0. It measures 210.8 x 135.9mm, and weighs 338 grams.

While in Software part,  Galaxy Note 8.0 runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean topped with Samsung's UI. Samsung adds a new Awesome Note, app along with the traditional S-Note application, apt for intensive note-taking

The device will be available starting from second quarter of this year around the world in Wi-Fi only, 3G and 4G LTE versions. Samsung also adds telephony support to the device and it could serve as a cellular voice device too that is not available in iPad Mini.

All in all the new Galaxy Note 8.0 will deliver a new 'Note' experience with its more portable form-factor and faster hardware specs.
