Along with Lumia 720, Nokia also announced a step down version of the device, Nokia Lumia 520 with the same Windows Phone 8 power. Nokia is presenting the device as the cheapest Lumia device and in fact it is cheaper than the Lumia 620, and is set for a price of €139, before taxes and subsidies.

Even though it is a cheaper device, Lumia 520 is designed almost similar hardware platform of Lumia 720. It features a 1 GHZ dual-core Snapdragon processor and under the hood it packs a 512MB of RAM. However the Finnish makers have reduced the size of the device to compensate the price drop. The 520 offers a 4" WVGA display with 800×480 screen resolution, and there is a step down in camera and battery too. The rear camera is just 5 MP one, and it uses a smaller 1430 mAh battery. The 5 MP camera offers 720p video recording at 30 FPS. The Lumia 520 is 9.9 mm thick and weighs 124g.
The device is slated for a second quarter release and China is the first country to get the device, and will be landing later in rest of Asia, Europe and T-Mobile in the US. There is also a TD-SCDMA version specifically made for China Mobile.
