Alcatel introduced a new Android handset, just ahead of the MWC. The new comer to their smartphone series, dubbed as Alcatel One Touch Star, is a low to mid ranger from its specification point of view. The Alcatel has a descent history in affordable smartphone space, as they always comes up with devices that sells at a relatively low price, but with extremely good specifications.
One Touch Star also seems to follow the same path, even though the company has not officially announced the price details it still looks like the device does not break any budget conscious wallet.
It lands with a 4.0-inch WVGA screen that rocks with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and offers the power of a dual-core 1GHz processor along with a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expanded with a microSD card support. There is a 5 MP rear camera, a VGA front facing camera, 1500 mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
In terms of connectivity the device offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GSM Quadband (850/900/1800/1900), UTMS (900/2100) and HSPA, HSDPA and HSUPA.
The device will be available in two different models, a dual SIM version, 6010D and just a single SIM one, 6010. Alcatel planning to launch the device in few different colors.
