Rugged Cat B15 Android Smartphone From Catterpiller

Caterpillar, a name famous for their heavy equipment in construction and mining industry, is entering into smartphone market, and as you may expect it won't be for regular guys, but the device dubbed as CAT B15 is for highly adventurers. It will be landing with  IP67  certifications. The company promises that the CAT B15 will be able to withstand drops onto concrete surfaces from a height of 1.8 meters, almost the height of an average man, it can survive the temperatures down to -20 degrees Celcius, and also submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. Silver anodized aluminum and shock absorbent rubber casing of the device offers dust protection too.

The makers have dome well in the innards too. It offers the processing power of dual-core 1GHz MediaTek MT6577 processor, on-board 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage that can be expanded further for additional needs. The display is a 4 inch WVGA one with Gorilla Glass protection. There is a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera that can capture 720p HD videos. Android 4.1 is the OS.

The ruggedly handsome smartphone is incredible in its black and yellow accents, and will be an ideal device for those working in extreme weather conditions, or for those treating their device rather carelessly. The Cat B15 is slated for a March release and priced at 329 EUR ($434.71 USD) SIM free.
